Terms & Services
Introduction
These terms and conditions set out the rights and obligations of the remover
(“we”,”us” or “our”) and the customer (“you” or “your”). These terms & conditions
are designed to ensure there is no confusion about what our services
include/exclude, to ensure safe transit of your goods. If you are unclear about any
element, please contact us for clarification. New Beginnings Removals & Storage Ltd
reserves the right to make any changes to any part of these terms and conditions
without giving any prior notice. By confirming your booking with New Beginnings
Removals & Storage Ltd you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions. 
1 Our Quotations
1.1 Unless otherwise stated, our quotation is an approximate price and does not
include insurance, customs duties or port inspections (if overseas movement) or any
other fees whatsoever that may incur. In the event of a quote being given as an
hourly rate, fees are charged starting from leaving Bicester or if in Bicester at the
collection address and ending when back in Bicester or again if in Bicester when the
unloading is complete. An administration fee will be added to cover fuel, wear and
tear on the vehicles, insurance and stopovers if needed.
1.2 Your quotation is valid for 10 days from date of issue to you, the customer. Subject to availability. We may amend our quotation either by increasing or
decreasing the price if any of the following occur after the initial quote was given:
1.2.1 You do not accept the quote within 10 days, by email, Facebook via messenger
or over the phone, this will need to be followed up in writing.
1.2.2 If your removal date moves within 5 working days either side of the date given
when quotation was written and agreed.
1.2.3 Our costs change because of currency fluctuations, pay increases, packing
materials, changes in freight, shipping, fuel, ferry or toll charges and carrier charges
beyond our control.
1.2.4 You must advise us as soon as possible if you wish to add any additional
items/services to your quotation, such as more items, including moving, packing, dismantling/re-assembly or storage. The additional items/service will not be
included until we have agreed a price with you.
1.2.5 Inadequate access preventing free movement of the goods without mechanical
equipment or structural alteration, or the approach, road or drive prevents our
vehicles and/or containers to load and/or unload within 10m of the doorway, meaning we must take extra time to complete the job.
1.2.6 There is a delay in accessing any of the premises caused by the customer.
1.2.7 Events outside our reasonable control that causes any delays.
1.2.8 The client's original requirements change, or the client has provided wrong or
incomplete information when the quote was given.
1.2.9 Any parking or other fees or charges that we have to incur and pay in order to
carry out the services you require. In all these circumstances you will be responsible
for the extra charges.
1.2.10 The work is carried out on a Saturday, Sunday, public holiday or outside the
normal working hours (0800-1800) at your request.
1.3 In all of the above circumstances, you will pay a charge adjusted accordingly.
2 Your Responsibilities
2.1 It will be your responsibility to:
2.1.1 Provide us with the correct and up to date contact address and telephone
numbers, email addresses during removals, transit and storage of your items.
2.1.2 Pay for any parking meters, charges incurred in order to carry out the service
you require.
2.1.3 To be present or represented throughout the move to ensure that nothing that
should be removed is left behind and nothing taken away in error.
2.1.4 Arrange proper protection for goods left in unoccupied or unattended premises
or where other people such as tenants or workmen are or will be present. If you fail
to protect your goods, we shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from such
failure.
2.1.5 Arrange appropriate transport, storage or disposal of goods listed in clause 4
2.1.6 To empty and defrost refrigerators, freezers and to make alternative transport
alternatives for their contents.
2.1.7 Ensure that all domestic and garden appliances including, washing machines, dishwashers, hosepipes, garden furniture, garden toys are clean and dry so that
there is no residual fluid left in them. If you have any petrol garden tools or
machinery, ensure that you empty out the petrol and leave the cap off for at least 3
days before moving. We do not accept liability of any damage to your property as a
result of these not being done.
2.1.8 Ensure loft space is emptied prior to your move, unless otherwise arranged.
2.1.9 Remove all items off walls (TV’s, picture or shelving) and remove screws or pins
especially on the stairs before the removal takes place.
2.1.10 We ask that you don’t have the heating on during the removal and delivery of
your items, as this is unpleasant for the staff to work in.
2.2 We do not accept liability if any of the above is not done.
3 Additional Charges
3.1 Late key charge - We charge a small fee of £10 per half hour per person working
on your move, with the first half an hour free. This starts from the time we arrive at
your new property. This could be for several reasons like, issues with the contracts, bank transfer or estate agents which are all out of our control.
3.2 Tricky access charge - This involves additional carrying distances more than 10m
from vehicle to property. This could be due to broken down lifts, unable to park
close to the property or other restrictions. We charge a small fee of £10 per half
hour per person working on the job to cover wages for the extra time spent.
3.3 Additional items charge - We will charge for any additional items being added to
the load which is not in the quotation book or “items-to-move-list”. Which we can
send to you on request.
3.4 Cancellation or postponement charges - Charges may still apply for moves that
involve New Beginnings Removals & Storage Ltd hiring extra vehicles or moves that
require to pay for transport, hotels in the UK or mainland Europe. These charges will
be talked through with the customer as we try to recover the funds that have been
purchased, but if unable these costs will be recovered from the customer.
3.5 Removal of prohibited items charge - If we find a prohibited item that applies to
clause 4.3 we will charge you £50 per item. We will make the item available for your
collection, and if you do not collect such items within a reasonable time, we reserve
the right to take further steps, in relation to the disposal of any such items. All costs
for disposal of such items will be invoiced to you the customer.
4 Goods not permitted to transit or storage
4.1 Prohibited items
4.1.1 Perishable items and/or those requiring a controlled environment, refrigeration or any frozen food or drink.
4.1.2 Any goods likely to encourage vermin, other pests or to cause
infestation/contamination.
4.1.3 Jewellery, watches, trinkets, precious stones/metals, money, deeds, securities, stamps, coin collections or collections of any similar kinds.
4.1.4 Potentially dangerous, gas bottles, fuels, aerosols, paints, firearms and
ammunition, damaging or explosive items.
4.2 Under no circumstance
4.2.1 Stolen goods, drugs or pornographic material.
4.2.2 Any animals, birds or fish.
4.3 If any of the team members see any of these items listed in clause 4.2.1 or 4.2.2, that are there for us to pack, these items will be highlighted to you the customer and
will be removed. If we come across any items from clauses 4.1.1 or 4.2.2 submitted
to us in a self-packing move, we will remove those items, and a charge will be added
under clause 3.5.
4.4 We will make them available to you for collection, and if you do not collect such
items within a reasonable time, we reserve the right to take further steps in relation
to the disposal of any such items. All costs for disposal of any such items will be
invoiced to you the customer.
5 Postponement or cancellation
5.1 Cancellation by New Beginnings Removals & Storage ltd
5.1.1 New Beginnings Removals & Storage ltd reserves the right to cancel an existing
booking prior to, at the beginning of or during the service if:
5.1.1.1 The condition of any of the properties are hazardous to the health & safety
and well-being of any New Beginnings team members.
5.1.1.2 The client has misrepresented or mislead any information/facts about the job.
5.1.1.3 Any of our team members are verbally or physically abused or discriminated
against in any way under clause 14.
5.1.1.4 There are inadequate conditions allowing the service to be completed (e.g. difficult/dangerous access, unreserved parking spaces, parking too far away from the
property, etc).
5.1.1.5 In any of the above circumstances occur, a cancellation charge of 50% of the
quoted price applies to cover the costs (unless otherwise agreed)
5.2 Cancellation by the customer
5.2.1 If the customer wants to cancel, amend or reschedule an existing appointment
free of charge, the customer must give us over 72 hours notice.
5.2.2 The customer agrees to pay 10% of the quoted price as a cancellation fee if
she/he cancels or changes the booking date 72 hours before. A 20% charge if it's
within 48 hours and a 25% charge if it's within 24 hours.
5.2.3 If our team is running late, or is unable to arrive at the pickup address on the
removal service date, due to unforeseen circumstances out of our control, the
customer has the right to reschedule the booking free of charge.
5.2.4 The customer agrees to pay the full price of the service if she/he cancels or
changes the booking service on the day of the scheduled appointment.
6 Payment
6.1 A 50% deposit is required at least two weeks prior to your move.
6.2 We will require the full payment no later than 5 days after the completion of the
job if local to Bicester. We will send you an invoice which can be paid by either bank
transfer or cash. After 5 days 1% interest will be added daily.
6.3 Any jobs more than 30 miles from Bicester, Oxfordshire, full payment will be
required before job completion.
7 Our liability for loss or damage
7.1 As we do not know the value of your items, there are limitations on what our
liability for loss and damage are. As set out in clause 7.3.1 to 7.3.10 below. You are
advised to check and see as you may already have cover under your current policy, or you may need to increase your own policy to cover your items whilst in transit or
storage.
7.2 If we are liable for losing or damaging your items, we will pay up to a maximum
sum of £40.00 sterling for each item.
7.3 We will not be liable for any loss, damage or failure to produce the items if
caused by any of the following reasons:
7.3.1 Fire, war, act of God, industrial action, hostilities, terrorism or other such
events out of our reasonable control.
7.3.2 For any items referred to in clause 4.1.1 and 4.1.2. 7.3.3 Cleaning, repairing or restoring unless we arranged for the work to be carried
out.
7.3.4 Normal wear and tear, natural or gradual deterioration, leakage, evaporation, unstable or perishable items. This includes items left within furniture or appliances.
7.3.5 Infestation by moth, vermin or anything similar.
7.3.6 Goods not packed by us, including those in wardrobes, drawers, appliances or
in a package, bundle, case or other container.
7.3.7 Any goods already proven defective, or goods which are inherently defective.
7.3.8 Electrical/ mechanical faults to any appliance or mechanical instrument, unless
there is evidence of external impact caused by us.
7.3.9 The data, files, software or digital contents of any computer or similar device.
7.3.10 Any plants
7.3.11 Any TVs or pictures not adequately wrapped, unless wrapped by us on a
packing job. 7.3.12 If the customer helps move items in and damage occurs
7.3.13 If the item being moved has handles intended to be used to move the item
and they break
7.4 No employee of New Beginnings Removals & Storage Ltd shall be separately
liable to you for any loss, damage, errors or omissions under the terms of this
contract. 
8 Time limit for claims
8.1 Any losses or damage to your items we have moved must be brought to the
attention of a New Beginnings team member at the time of the move. You agree to
unpack your items within 72 hours following your move and to notify us immediately
in writing of any missing or damaged items. Photo evidence of the damage will be
needed.
8.2 New Beginnings Removals & Storage ltd may take up to 14 working days to
respond to a complaint or claim.
8.3 Notwithstanding causes 7, New Beginnings Removals & Storage Ltd will not be
liable for any loss of or damage to items if a self-pack service was used, as we have
not seen the condition of any of the items prior to them being packed/wrapped.
9 Delays in transport
9.1 Other than by reason of New Beginnings Removals & Storage ltd negligence, we
will not be liable for delays in transport.
9.2 If we are unable to deliver your items through no fault of our own, we will
endeavour to contact you and make other arrangements. It may be necessary for
you to book your own storage so that we can unload all of your items. Our contract
will be fulfilled once your items have been unloaded into your storage. All costs of
storage and further delivery will be the customers responsibility. 
10 list of items
10.1 On our first visit, we will conduct a survey of all items that you wish, us to move
or store for you. You will receive a full list of items upon request.
10.2 On receiving your list of items, you are advised to look over your list by room. If
items are not listed you need to contact us, so we can amend the list. If the list is not
amended and on the date of the removal, we notice more you will be subject to a
charge under clause 3.3. 
11 Termination
11.1 If you wish to terminate your storage contract, you must give New Beginnings
Removals & Storage ltd at least 14 days notice. If we can release the goods earlier, we will do so, provided that your account is paid up to date. Charges for storage are
payable to the date when the notice should have taken effect. 
12 Insurance
12.1 We are fully insured against damage of property and items based on New
Beginnings Removals & Storage ltd providing the packing service. Our insurance does
not cover self-packing as we have not seen the items prior to them being
packed/wrapped.
12.2 We therefore recommend you get insurance cover, that will cover all items that
you have packed yourselves.
12.3 We are not insured to disconnect/reconnect cookers, washing machines or
dishwashers.
12.4 We are not insured to take paint, petrol or highly flammable items.
13 Ownership of rights
13.1 All rights, including copyright, on our website are owned by New Beginnings
Removals & Storage ltd. You may not modify, distribute or re-post anything on our
website for any purpose. If you use our website, quotations, items to be moved list
or its contents, including copying or other than for your own personal, non- commercial use is prohibited without the permission of New Beginnings Removals &

14 Staff abuse
14.1 Verbal or threatening behaviour will not be tolerated towards any of our New
Beginnings team members.
14.2 If any of our New Beginnings team members are forced to leave the job because
of abuse, verbal or otherwise from you the customer or any member of your family, friends or visitors to your property. You the customer will still be liable to pay in full
and may have to arrange another removal company to move your items. If
something like this was to occur, then any items on the vehicle will either be left
outside your house or taken back to the lockup for collection to be arranged.
